VP, Sales

White Marsh/Field

The VP, Sales focuses on achieving sales revenue and market share targets by developing and executing business plans, coordinating with the Marketing team, and ensuring effective coverage of territories in support of the Inside and Outside Sales departments.

This position will act as a coach in the development of the sales team to enable them the tools necessary to maximize sales. In addition this position will focus on leveraging and growing partnerships with key customers nationally.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Business or related field. M.S./M.B.A. preferred. 10 years of outside sales management experience required (5 in a National Sales Management capacity) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food ingredient sales required, gums/stabilizer experience preferred.

In addition, the candidate must be highly proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Office and CRM software. Must be capable of delivering high impact presentations in front of groups of varying sizes. Must possess strong analytical expertise in understanding complex issues and their consequences. Must possess strong negotiation skills and possess a high level of diplomacy skills to be able to defuse stressful situations. Must be able to work with many different personality types to achieve goals.

Technical Account Manager

This position is responsible for providing ongoing technical and sales support for existing customers and new opportunities and is responsible for meeting targeted sales growth goals for assigned accounts and/or regions.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a science-related field. Food Science degree preferred. Prior sales experience and food industry experience helpful. Knowledge of features, benefits and use of products desirable.

Will require 6 to 12 months of training in customer service, quality control and R&D labs to learn about TIC's products. Training requires developing a working knowledge of TIC products and their functions, and a familiarity with customer applications by researching, reading and interacting with internal departments.

This position is the training ground for introduction to a field sales position. As the candidate becomes proficient in our products and services, they will begin to travel to make customer visits to assigned accounts. Initial travel will be approximately 25% of time, and then eventually up to 50% of time will be spent in the field. This position will also travel to local and/or national tradeshows.
